Councilman George Lobman, who has filled the Ward 2 position of Mayor Daniel Rodrick, has been busy on social media, defending the actions of the Mayor and voting 100% in support of all actions of the mayor since taking office and now, has taken care of his daughter. Gianna Lobman has been hired by the Township of Toms River, as a “seasonal employee” in the Parks & Playgrounds Department as a “Recreation Official.” Not sure of the job responsibilities of a “Recreation Official” but she applied on May 29, 2024, was hired on May 31, 2024 at a rate of $30/hour. Ms. Lobman is a 2024 graduate of High Point University, with a degree in Social Media and Digital Communication. Maybe she has a future as the Public Information Officer of Toms River….
Toms River Code 23-13B “Prohibits the Township to hire any permanent, nonseasonal position to any immediate family members of the Mayor or Township Council.” Though if there are extenuating circumstances, a waiver of the policy may apply but must be approved by 2/3 majority of the Council. Let’s wait till June 26, 2024 Council Meeting!
