Toms River Council President Justin Lamb Named in US District Court Lawsuit

Once again Toms River Ward 1 Councilman Justin Lamb has found himself embroiled in legal action as Michael E. Vintzileos and Steven Wronko have filed suit against Borough of Lavallette and at least six (6) named defendants including Justin Lamb as Sergeant of the Borough of Lavallette Police Department. The case, filed in the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey, alleges civil rights violations by local authorities, drawing attention to tensions between residents and municipal officials.

Steven Wronko, a Spotswood resident known for his activism and public records requests, and Mike Vintzileos, whose specific background remains less detailed in public accounts but is a well known activist on disability and cannabis rights, were reportedly arrested in Lavallette on July 24, 2023 under circumstances that their legal team claims violated their constitutional rights.

Those charges were later dismissed and expunged. While exact details of the arrests are outlined in available federal court summaries, the lawsuit contends that Lavallette police acted improperly, potentially infringing on the plaintiffs’ First and Fourth Amendment protections.
