The Time is Now Before Rodrick does More Destruction
Daniel Rodrick, the Mayor of Toms River, has repeatedly demonstrated a blatant disregard for the rules, the community, and the well-being of its residents. His actions reveal a pattern of self-interest and neglect that threaten the safety, environment, and integrity of our town.
Unacceptable Behavior and Misuse of Resources
- Driving a Toms River Township Vehicle to his other Full-Time Job: Despite his role as mayor, Rodrick is always using a Toms River township car to commute to his full-time position as Vice Principal of Irvington High School. This misuse of public resources raises serious questions about his priorities and integrity.
- Deception About Public Safety: Rodrick closed the animal shelter and eliminated Toms River Animal Control and reduced overall public safety. EMS response times are increasing, with many residents facing dangerously long waits. Additionally, the Toms River Police Department has been reduced by about 20 officers due to attrition, with no new officers being hired to fill the gaps, putting our safety at risk.
Legal Troubles and Questionable Development Policies
- Lawsuits and False Claims: While Rodrick claims to oppose over-development, he only talks about the lawsuit relative to Downtown Development and no other parts of Toms River. Meanwhile, his administration has allowed the removal of trees and increased development in North Dover, contradicting his public statements.
- Putting Personal Interests Above Community Needs: It’s clear that Daniel Rodrick prioritizes his own interests over those of Toms River residents. His actions suggest he is more concerned with self-promotion than serving the community, i.e. his name on concerts, fireworks shows, movies and the senior transportation.
